In November, Ms. Dunn and Mr. Acree accompanied 14 of our students to Guatemala for Aberdeen Hall’s inaugural service-learning trip to Project Somos. Project Somos supports indigenous families and children living in extreme poverty in rural Guatemala. They provide quality education and healthy meals to these families in an eco-sustainable community known as The Children’s Village. Their mission is to give children the opportunity to break the vicious cycle of poverty for themselves and future generations In their time at The Project, our students rolled up their sleeves, working in the fields, preparing snacks and meals in the kitchen, cleaning, and most importantly interacting with the children at Project Somos.
